The Skyline College Environmental Science Building is a new single story, 22,000 square foot building with a radiused footprint, requiring 243 tons of steel to be erected and installed.
At the heart of the building is the 290-person events center, for which XL sourced and installed 22-foot-high high structural glass to create majestic views overlooking the scenic Pacific Ocean. The building serves as home to classroom laboratories, lecture halls, academic offices, and a kitchen, and provides gallery space for the San Mateo Community College District. The building is LEED-Gold certified and Zero Net Energy-ready.
